A Practical Deployment Framework
The following five steps represent a practical framework for deploying AI document review in a UK law firm:
- Start with defined, bounded tasks. Do not start with your most complex, high-risk matters. Start with a document type that is high-volume, relatively standardised, and where you can validate AI accuracy against known results. Commercial leases, NDAs, and employment contracts are good starting points.
- Validate before you rely. Run a parallel exercise where solicitors review the same documents both with and without AI, then compare. This gives you real accuracy data for your specific document types and helps you understand where the AI is reliable and where it needs more oversight.
